Al Mahmoudia Motors introduced the new Range Rover Velar in Jordan
Al Mahmoudia Motors the official dealer of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in Jordan announced the arrival of the newest member in the Range Rover lineup in a special event held at Al Mahmoudia Motors showrooms in Amman.
The all new Velar is offering a stylish design from the outside and the display and control system is something that never seen before in a mid size SUV, it is not too big but still offering an enough room for an SUV with off road capabilities.
The Velar is categorized as a mid size SUV as it is bigger than the Evoque and smaller than the Range Rover Sport, it has the Range Rover Sport look from the outside with the roof dropped and the details slimmed. It is available in different specifications packs the S, SE, HSE, R-Dynamic range.
It is on road and off road car as it combines both good performance and comfort needed in an SUV and good off road capabilities features Hill Descent Control (HDC) as standard along with the optional Terrain Response 2.
Inside the Velar
You do not want to leave the cockpit once you sit in the Velar as Land Rover succeed in making a car that does not look like any other SUV in the market with the two big edgeless touch screens in the console for display and control system and it performs like no other car. Leather seats, leathered dashboard as standard. Steering wheel is made from leather too the buttons are context dependent and touch sensitive.
They kept it simple and comfort to us; media player and phone functions are handled through the upper screen, but you can pull down a menu to control them using the lower screen, as well and that’s give the advantage when you want to leave the navigation map on the other display.
S and SE cars get 10 way electrically adjustable seats, as optional you can to upgrade to the fancy 20 way versions so you can have the adjustable lumbar support.
Engine and Performance
3 petrol engines will be available to choose from, all of them are all wheel drive (AWD) with Intelligent Drive line Dynamics (IDD) delivers full of road capability and on road performance, the three petrol models have an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode.
The entry level is the P250 4 cylinder 2.0 liter turbo charged engine with 247 hp and 365 nm of torque accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, the second model is the P300 4 cylinder 2.0 liter engine turbocharged produces 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds.
The last engine and the most powerful one is the P380 3.0 liter supercharged produces a 380 hp and 450 Nm of torque and able to accelerate the Velar from 0-100 km/h in 5,7 seconds only.
